ChatGPT. Does this sound like an important tool? Maybe it’s the most important tool since modern search engines.
OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT, a neural network that simulates human conversation while answering complex questions.
It is a groundbreaking technology because it is trained to understand what humans mean when asking questions
Lots of people find AI writing assistants so impressive because they can respond to queries with human-like quality. This in turn inspires hope that they might eventually be able to disrupt the way we interact with computers and cause a total revolution in information retrieval.
What Is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a large language model chatbot developed by OpenAI based on GPT-3.5 which can provide answers to natural language questions, in the form of dialogue, that are indistinguishable from those generated by humans.
Large language models perform the task of predicting what comes next. They do this by predicting the most likely word in a series of words.
Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) is an additional form of training where humans provide feedback to ChatGPT so it can learn the skill of following directions and generating responses that are satisfying to humans.
Who Built ChatGPT?
ChatGPT was created by the OpenAI Company in San Francisco. OpenAI Inc is the non-profit company that operates the for-profit OpenAI LP
OpenAI developed the well-known DALL·E, a deep learning model that automatically generates images from text instructions called prompts.
The founder of this company is Sam Altman, who used to be the president at Y Combinator.
Microsoft is a partner and investor in the amount of $1 billion because they want to offer their products as the best option for an AI platform.
Large Language Models(LLM)
ChatGPT is a language model (LLM). They are trained with tons of data to accurately predict what word comes next in your sentence.
Increasing the amount of data will allow for better language models to be created.
Stanford University has said:
LLMs can predict the next word within a sentence and the sentence after that. It’s sort of like autocomplete, but at a mind-bending scale.
This capacity means they can produce entire paragraphs and pages of content.
There are limits to what LLMs can do. For instance, they can’t be 100% sure on the precise words a human is after.
ChatGPT is currently the only chatbot being created with Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback, so it’s better than all of its competitors.
Best uses of ChatGPT
ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot for content creation designed with developers in mind. It frees up valuable time for producing content because it leverages AI to generate natural language content.
1.Writing Code
There are plenty of things the chatbot can do, from simple coding services to language translation and even team chat. The ChatGPT’ AI chatbot can write code for you if you get stuck, or if you tell it which programming language to use.
I requested ChatGPT to make me a Java sorting routine for prime numbers, and it came out well. I tried it in the compiler and it worked just fine.
2.Debug Code
If you’re a programmer, ChatGPT is bound to have an application that will serve one of your purposes. It could even help find and fix the errors or debug in your code!
If you ask ChatGPT to check the code, it will identify and list any errors found in it and show where and how to fix them.
3.Explain complex concepts
ChatGPT is the tool you need for instant knowledge and informational acquisition. You can ask it anything, from graphics card and software basics to the theory behind it, and get an answer instantly. Let ChatGPT identify any queries you might have the next time you don’t know what to do.
You can also ask ChatGPT to explain concepts in basic language if you’re struggling with a complicated subject. The process is super easy! All you have to do is type “explain like I’m 5” followed by what you want the bot to explain and they will give you a comprehensive explanation.
4.Diet Planner
If you’re planning a whole week of meals for lots of people- try asking Chat GPT to list out a few different options, and then specify whether you want dinners, breakfasts or lunches. Specify your preferences (e.g. vegetarian, allergies, other restrictions) and a few days’ worth of meals will be sent your way!
Are you looking for the ingredients of a specific meal? It would be more accurate to give specific instructions, like the amount of meat versus vegetables.
For instance, it’s possible to find out the ingredients used in the dishes mentioned. GPT generates a shopping list that includes the quantity of each ingredient you’ll need for a week’s worth of meals, including how many cans, ounces, pounds & cups.
5.Story writer
Unsurprisingly, ChatGPT hasn’t managed to produce anything yet that’s quite as good as a bestseller on the bestseller lists. The content it produces is solid though and the narratives are straightforward – perfect for bedtime stories or childrens books.
It won’t take the place of traditionally published children’s books. But if you’re short on time or far from your child’s favorite stories, this can be a great way to satisfy their bedtime cravings for quality reading material. using ChatGPT
What are the Limitations of ChatGPT?
Limitations on Toxic Response
ChatGPT is programmed to provide a positive response based on AI. So it will avoid answering toxic questions.
A person’s answer may depend on the accuracy of the question or the misunderstandings in their understanding.
The quality of the content ChatGPT generates comes down to the quality of your input. For this reason, we recommend you provide it with prompts, as they are more likely to give you better answers.
Answers Are Not Always Correct
There are some limitations to machine intelligence, including this one that the trained answers can trick humans into thinking it’s correct.
ChatGPT can provide you with many useful answers to your questions, but some people have discovered that it also provides a lot of incorrect answers as well. These may include some wildly inaccurate ones.
The moderators at Stack Overflow may have noticed that answers that come to feel right to humans do not actually be correct.
A lot of the answers on Stack Overflow that we attribute to users may not be correct.
The thousands of spam posts slowed the volunteer moderator team. The administrators had to institute a ban against any users posting questions generated from ChatGPT
Is ChatGPT Free To Use?
ChatGPT will be free from now until the end of the research preview.
The chatbot is currently open to the public and being tested. Feedback will be collected and analyzed so that it can become better at answering questions and learn from mistakes.
The official announcement states that OpenAI is eager to receive feedback about mistakes:
There is a contest with prize of $500 in ChatGPT credits to encourage the public to rate the responses.
The contest end date is December 31, 2022 at 11:59 PM
Conclusion
As we mentioned earlier, ChatGPT will eventually be a paid service.
Since opening up 5 days ago, over a million users have registered to use ChatGPT.
